BMW Cars Home

BMW or the Bavarian Motor Works began in Germany after the World War 1 and made motor bikes before the manufacture of cars. That was almost 100 years ago and today the BMW automobiles are regarded as some of the best in the world. The company is a giant in the motoring world with luxury vehicles, outstanding motor bikes and a serious presence in motor racing.

At first the company was a manufacturer of aircraft and the internationally known BMW symbol of a circle with two blue and two white sections is actually representative of a moving propeller on an airplane. Today BMW cars are manufactured in several countries with more than a million vehicles produced every year. The split between petrol and diesel engines is almost fifty-fifty with petrol vehicles slightly more popular.

BMW family sedans are hugely popular but in recent years a variety of different types of other vehicles have been produced.  A great example is the sporty Z4 with its exciting tin-top convertible roof. The roof can be opened or closed in only 20 seconds.  The sleek design and superior comfort are brilliant attractions but the convertible roof and engine options make this a quality BMW sports car.

For decades the BMW range of cars has been based on the 3 series, 5 series and 7 series. These classy and reliable cars have gone through many changes with constant improvements developed over the decades. Today these three varieties of BMW cars remain constantly popular forming the bulk of sales.

But over the years BMW has introduced different models including sporting cars, SUVs, wagons, roadsters and coupes to name a few. So reliable and safe are the BMW vehicles that VIPs, taxis, emergency services and celebrities make this their vehicle of choice.

But not only do BMW produce a wide range of different vehicles, they also offer a series of models within each range. There are 4, 6 and 8 cylinder engines using either petrol or diesel.  BMW is constantly looking to improve the cars they have already and create new ones to serve the needs of drivers around the world. Convertibles, manual and automatic options are just one aspect of most of their cars.

One outstanding feature of BMW cars is their resale value. Very few cars hold their price as well as a BMW auto. The quality of workmanship, the degree of finish and the reliability and safety of the cars sees them fetch high to very prices when offered as a used vehicle.

If you are a collector of vintage or classic cars, you have a wide selection of models from which to choose. BMW vehicles built between the wars are highly regarded but then so too are some of the early Series 3 cars built in the 1970s.

The solid construction of BMW cars is best represented by the sound of its closing doors. What a secure sound. The safety features and superb materials and manufacture make BMW the preferred choice of car lovers all over the world.
